EXPERIENCE
The best food destination in Calangute.
Atmosphere is such an important for sale adjunct to a great meal. Souza Lobo is a large, airy, well laid out restaurant, with an un-fussy rustic charm. Tables with red tablecloths and rattan woven benches, woven lacquered coconut matting below the Mangalore tiled roof. It has to be un-fussy because the beach around us provides unbeatable décor. Remember Calangute is the Queen of all beaches of Goa.
Add to that a delicious meal, attentive bearers, the sound of the waves breaking on the beach and the song of the wind. What you have is simply bliss. How can we not expect to see you again and again? We know what brings you here. This is what powers us on decade after decade, serving you the freshest, most delicious fare this side of Paradise.
It’s beautiful in the day time with the sunshine and the sand and the blue, blue sea. But at night when we put tables out on the beach under the star-spangled sky, it’s a whole new experience with live music so infectious that our guests dance the night away before and after their meal. Some dance to remember the good times, some dance to forget the present with all its worry and tension
RESTAURANT
We work at improving our
meals and service every day
to be. The variety and quality is something we do not compromise
on. Neither will we compromise on the authentic traditional Goan
food that we serve. We give the same loving attention to our Indian,
Continental and Chinese cuisine.

Testimonials
Souza Lobo now has a sitting capacity of 300 customers with over 60 tables. We can cater to about thousand customers every day.We specialise in sea food, mainly Goan, Continental and Indian. We also serve Chinese, Italian and Tandoor. We also have BBQ nights with live music, besides we cater to weding birthday and other special ocassions
At first sight it looks like any other restaurant in goa. Thatched roof held up bamboo poles, pleasant waiters in colored and printed uniforms and large straw hats.In other words its a typical Goan envirinment. But to get a real feel of the Souza Lobo, one must visit it in the evening after 6p.m. The place is jam packed and there is always a queue with atleast 60-70 people waiting in line for table. Most of them are tourists from all parts of the country and world.
The furniture and decor is all very basic. Brightly colored tablecloths, comfortable chairs and tables and simple crockry and cutlery. The pulse of this age old restaurant beats at a hectic pace during the evenings, the place is literally busting at the seams with the 300 covers fully occupied; High Quality Handbags Sale at Our Shop, and guests patiently queue up waiting to enter and feast upon the culinery delights of Hotel Souza Lobo.Hence do not be surprised if you are served in a thrise, as the restaurant boasts of tabling orders in 10 minutes flat! Every single dish on the menu can be availed of at any time of the day or night. An early or late lunch, or an early dinner, anything and evrything available….

Souza Lobo on the beach front. One of Goa’s oldest restaurants and for sale deservedly famous for its superb sea food, served on crisp gingham tablecloths by legions of fast moving waiters. Try their blow-out fish sizzlers or mouth watering tiger prawns; lobsters have to be ordered a little bit in advance. They also do a for sale range of copious salads, including a veruy tasty stuffed avocado. Get there early and avoid weekends. Most main dishes Rs.100/- to 150/-

Hotel Souza Lobo facing the main beach in Calangute, is an established favourite and the quality of the seafood is hard to beat, though it’s not cheap. Fish Curry Rice is Rs.60/-, Pompfret with Prawns is Rs.190/- and Lobster dishes top Rs.700/-.

SOUZA LOBO has been a landmark at Calangute for many years now. With a vantage location right on the beach, its excellent sea food, steaks and goan dishes have attracted people from far and near, drawn by a common love of good cuisine. This eatery serves Goan, Indian, Chinese and Continental food. Souza Lobo, reveals proprietor Jude lobo, was established way back in 1932, which makes it a venerable 70 years this season! The sea food has been hot favorite as also the prawn Curry / Rice, Sorpotel and Cafreal. Cocktail. Mocktails and fresh juices are available too.
EATING OUT in GOA
2001-2002
Recently visited Souza Lobo with family and tried out the revamped food and bar menu. Must say that we were pleased with the portions, presentation and of course the taste of everything we ordered. I’m usually a non vegetarian but surprisingly we gorged on the cheese garlic naans and dal fry that blew our minds. We did try some xenanios and prawns which were absolutely delicious.
The pink guava mocktail was very refreshing too. Can’t wait to try out some more of the traditional preparations.

A visit to this inconic spot is always a success. Great food and service with excellent quality of seafood. Starters and the whole king fish rechado was fantastic.
Kids loved the fish and chips and the prawns stuffed pappad. The rice balls stuffed with goan sausage was awesome as well.

It’s that place which gets printed over your mind. The calming atmosphere right next to a chaotic touristy place is an irresistible advantage. The food has peculiar authenticity of taste that you probably won’t find at many other places in Goa.
ZORBA THEFENUGREEK
This is by far the best eatery on Calangute Beach Goa. The red snapper and Goan prawn curry are fabulous. The Chinese and tandoori items are also equally good. Beer is of the best quality. There is live music through the evenings.
AC seating area and seating on the foyer overlooking the beach are the 2 options available. Pretty crowded though, couple of times had to wait to get a table. Must visit at Goa, Calangute beach
SAYANTAN MUKHERJEE
Enjoyed authentic GOAN food for continuous 3days ( lunch and dinner).
Also caught up with chef JOSEPH and thank him for Goan delight.
Excellent experience.

Souza Lobo is an iconic Goa joint. Located right on Calangute Beach it’s hard to miss.
We dropped in early for a quick bite after a lousy and scammy boat ride on this terrible excuse for a beach called Calangute.
My wife absolutely loved her mackerel recheado and couldn’t praise it enough.
Super fresh and so delicious.
My beer was served promptly in an ice cold beer mug. What’s not to love?
I was happy to return to Souza Lobo after 19 years.
